Gong Immersion - A Sonic Feast of Gratitude
Each November, we take time to acknowledge the bounty we enjoy in our everyday lives. We hope that this Thanksgiving weekend finds you sharing a nourishing meal with beloved family and friends. Here at Yoga West, we are savoring all the recent improvements that have been made to our building, including fresh exterior paint, new windows, signage, and now, the acquisition of a 32” Symphonic Gong. Teachers look forward to sharing the rich rejuvenating power of this beautiful instrument with you during layout in regular classes.
Teachers of the Saturday Wake Up and Women’s class will be away Saturday, November 25th. There will be no 8:30am class that day, but in the time usually reserved for Women’s class, you’ll have an opportunity to experience a rare sonic feast – a 31-minute Gong Immersion.
Join Sat Ganesha Singh and friends at 10:30am for a preliminary set of Kundalini yoga and meditation. Then relax in shiv asana, listening to the nurturing sounds of the gong.
The Gong is the first and last instrument for the human mind, there is only one thing that can supersede and command the human mind, the sound of the Gong. It is the first sound in the universe, the sound that created this universe. It’s the basic creative sound. To the mind, the sound of the gong is like a mother and father that gave it birth. The mind has no power to resist a gong that is well played.”
